So here I am....writing my first blog post. Writing as a mode of expression never ever crossed my mind until I realized something: though I'll never be a writer, I love to connect with people and their thoughts. I love to share my thoughts, dreams, emotions, things I'm excited about, things I'm challenged by and things that leave me raw open.
My husband and I recently relocated up into the North Woods of Minnesota to be close to his parents and to the land/environment he felt called to raise our expanding family.
We have two kids now. Phew....two boys! Our oldest son is 2 and our youngest is now 8 weeks. Jude, the oldest, is AMAZING. Give him a stick and he will turn it into a guitar (pick included), a violin, drum stick, microphone, or he might just make you some oatmeal or cookies. He constantly surprises me with his imagination and creativity. He really has his daddy's art gene in him.
Gabriel, our second, is precious. Right now he is developing and growing. He is the NOISIEST baby I have ever met. Grunting and making the rudest sounds while sleeping, nursing, or just hanging out. This time around I'm really asking my baby to SLOW DOWN on the growing up thing!!!!
Parenting has its challenges for me. As a mom who is highly sensitive to my external environment, find myself struggling in this stage. Honestly, without a community to support me, I wouldn't be able to focus on the joy and goodness God has created in these little men. What a blessing these two are! I need my terrapin family and my circle of women, moms, and grandmas to help me be the best mom I can be. With community constantly pointing me to the Perfect Father I know I am able to continue on with excitement and openness.
I can't wait to write and share about our parenting walk, our family life, and the products we are using at home that aid us in raising a happy healthy family. I am so happy to have you here!! I'm so happy you have found community here with us at Terrapin Family. Please post about you below. What is God doing in your life? What is new in your family?
